Cycle through grand country estates to medieval Ludlow. With more than 500 listed buildings, a fantastic castle, and two Michelin starred restaurants. Your accommodation is set in Ludlow for both nights. From Ludlow explore the Corvedale - lots of history, Norman churches, deserted villages and even the longest ford in the country.

 

Easy to moderate cycling with a few short steep bits. Total 35 miles (or up to 72 miles if you chose the longer rides).

 

Day 1. Petchfield Farm to Ludlow. 12 miles/ 19km. Cycle to Ludlow, following the River Teme and two country estates. Explore Bromfield church with its painted ceiling, then cycle Òoff roadÔ, past Clive of IndiaÕs former home. Ludlow is a medieval, fortified town dominated by its Norman castle, with lots of really good places to eat and drink. (Including two Michelin starred restaurants). There is plenty to do from guided walks, an outstanding church, swimming pool & assembly room (films & live theatre).

 

Day 2. Ludlow and the Corvedale. Choice of cycle routes 14-34 miles (22-55km). Cycle to the Clee Hills to discover the idyllic Heath Chapel or visit Stokesay Castle - a classic fortified manor house. You can even cycle to Acton Scott Historic Working Farm.

 

Day 3 Ludlow to Petchfield Farm. Choice of routes 10-23 miles (16-37km). Visit the lovely market town of Tenbury Wells with its old-fashioned teashops & recently restored Victorian Spa buildings or cycle to Richards Castle, one of the first Norman castles built in this country.... before 1066. You can also visit Berrington Hall or Croft Castle (National Trust) if you are feeling energetic. finishing any time in the afternoon, back at Petchfield Farm.
