An action packed holiday, combining a two day cycle tour through the Black & White Villages of Herefordshire (all the usual equipment and back up service). With a wonderful Canadian canoe trip down the River Wye on the third day. Paddle to Hay on Wye for lunch, then float downstream to The Boat Inn at Whitney on Wye, where youÕll be collected and returned to the canoe base.

Easy cycling - mainly following river valleys. Total 24-57 miles (39-92km). Opportunities for longer rides each day. Easy canoeing 5-10 miles (8-16km). Canadian canoes take 2-3 people.

Day 1. Petchfield Farm to Kingsland. Choice of cycle routes 12-27 miles (19-44km). Two short sections of off road cycling through Nature reserves, one short hill section, the rest of the route following river valleys. Idyllic countryside with lots of water mills, picnic places & great views. You can even cycle into Wales to visit Presteigne, the historic county town of Old Radnorshire and its award winning Judges Lodging Museum.

Day 2. Kingsland to Petchfield Farm. 12-30 miles (19-48km). On your last cycling day there are two grand National Trust houses to visit; Croft Castle and Berrington Hall. Remember to stop at Yarpole church for coffee, their bell tower is one of the oldest timber structures in the UK. Finishing any time in the afternoon, back at Petchfield Farm.

Day 3. Canoeing down the River Wye. 5 or 10 miles. You drive to the canoe base for briefing & kitting out with your Canadian canoes. You paddle downstream to Hay on Wye (5 miles/ 8km) for lunch then canoe down the Wye to the famous toll bridge & Boat Inn (10 miles/ 16km). You can finish your canoeing at either point (the longer trip takes all day, finishing about 4pm) and you will be collected & returned to the canoe base.

Canoe Safety: Canadian canoes take 2 people (or 2 adults/1 child). Children welcome from 6 years upward, must be accompanied on a ratio of one adult to one child. Must be confident on water & previous canoeing experience is recommended, if you are taking children with you. Canoe trips are run from May to September, outside of this season, river levels are too high.

Train travel: if arriving by train, this holiday will involve some extra taxi trips. Ask for details.
