An extended version of the Mortimer Trail End to End walk.

Extend this walking holiday over four walking days to reduce the daily mileage. Starting from Kington leading through Titley & Aymestrey and spending your last night in Ludlow. We transport you to the start & finish of your walk each day.

Walk Description. Walking on well signposted routes, through a variety of terrain – farmland, woodland & open moorland. Some short, steep sections. Total 30 miles/ 48km.

Day 1. Kington to Titley. 6 miles/ 10km. Leaving your car at Petchfield Farm, you are transported to Kington, for the start of The Mortimer Trail. Kington is a quiet market town with plenty of places to stop for lunch.  The trail takes you away from the Welsh border, over Offa's Dyke and eventually down to the village of Titley. Staying at The Stagg at Titley (Hotel/Inn option), or a local guesthouse in Presteigne. The Stagg Inn was the first inn in the UK to receive a Michelin star - Its a fantastic place to stay, and turns the holiday into a real treat.

Day 2. Titley to Lyepole Bridge. 8 miles/13km. Today's walk, takes you along a series of ridges to the Hill fort in Wapley forest, then down to the Lugg valley and Aymestrey gorge.  A lovely walk with great views & some beautiful woodland stretches. You are collected from Lyepole bridge & taken the short distance to your overnight stay at Aymestrey, country inn or guest house (excellent reputation for food).

Day 3. Lyepole Bridge to Waterloo Lane.  8 miles/1 3km. Return to Lyepole bridge and walk along the River Lugg and Aymestrey gorge. Climb out of the valley to the Iron Age fort of Croft Ambrey and the National Trust Croft Castle. Finally you walk through Bircher Common to Waterloo Lane. Here you are collected & taken to your overnight stay in Aymestrey.

Day 4. Waterloo Lane to Ludlow. 8 mile/ 13km. Your last dayÕs walk. Return to Waterloo Lane, and the last section of the walk through Mortimer Forest (brilliant views from High Vinnalls), and eventually down into the medieval town of Ludlow for your last night's stop. Stay at the Feathers Hotel (Hotel/Inn option) or unique local guesthouse in the historic centre of Ludlow.

Day 5. Ludlow to Petchfield Farm. Your last day & time to explore Ludlow. We arrange to pick you up at a time convenient to you & take you back to Petchfield Farm to collect your car & luggage.
