A two day cycle tour to the charming border village of Clun - with traditional inns, a teashop and a castle. This is possibly the most perfect cycle route we have ever found. Follows the unspoilt river valleys of the Teme, Clun and Redlake, along easy gradients leading up into the beautiful Clun Hills.

This is our favourite cycle ride - we know you will enjoy it! Easy cycling, suitable for all abilities and families. Total 36 miles/ 58km. Opportunities for longer rides each day.

Arrive at your accommodation for your first nights stay. Close by are the National Trust properties of Croft Castle, Berrington Hall and the medieval town of Ludlow. Ludlow is a fortified town with a magnificent Norman castle. There are lots of very good inns and restaurants, including two with Michelin stars.

Day 1. Petchfield Farm to Clun. 20 miles/ 32km. Cycle along idyllic valley lanes past a string of picturesque villages, gradually leading you up through a cleft in the hills. Plenty of inns & teashops on your route, including one in the historic village of Brampton Bryan with its grand yew hedge & castle. Clun is a charming border village, with a castle, museum, teashops and two pubs that provide excellent food.

Day 2. Clun to Petchfield Farm. 18 miles/ 29km. Downstream along the River Clun via the ruins of Hopton Castle and a 1930Õs traditional tearoom. Lunch in a ÒromanÓ village with its riverside inn, or the unique parlour pub - unchanged for a 100 years. Finishing any time in the afternoon, back at Petchfield Farm.
