A fantastic opportunity to really see the best of
HerefordshireÕs wildlife. During the day you cycle through idyllic lanes
to find some of the best wildlife locations. A field of orchids, butterfly
meadows, rivers with otters and dippers. ItÕs amazing what you come across
when you leave your car behind. And as the icing on the cake you stay
overnight at a very special location – where you can watch badgers
and use our amazing bat detectors to your hearts content...
On your last day, return to Petchfield Farm via Croft
Castle (National Trust) and the famous Spanish chestnuts (planted before
the Armada) with tea at the CarpenterÕs tearoom
Easy cycling - mainly following river valleys with the
occasional short steep bit. Total 24-36 miles (39-58km), plus a choice of
day rides on day two. Opportunities for longer rides each day.
Day 1. Petchfield Farm to Kingsland. Choice of cycle
routes 12- 27 miles (19-44km). Cycle around the edge of the glaciated
Wigmore Lake & through a nature reserve to Aymestrey. Kingfishers,
dippers, herons & otters can all be found in the River Lugg. You stay
for two nights at a very special location with its own nature reserve and
wildlife trail. In the evening, you can watch badgers and use our amazing

instant results with the bat detector - there are at least four types of
bat & you can even hear them eating.
