Wheely Wonderful Cycling was started in 1992 by Chris and Kay Dartnell

"We loved cycle touring and wanted to share it with others, and we had found the most brilliant area to explore by bike.......the borders of England and Wales, fab scenery, little used country lanes, great food and a friendly welcome....in fact better than France...as there are no pubs and tea shops in France!   So we Escaped to the Country and undertook our own Grand Design, we converted redundant farm buildings to be the base for Wheely Wonderful Cycling, years before TV decided that this was everyone's dream."

The reality is of course a lot of hard work...but it's great fun, and we love meeting our guests and sharing our favourite cycle routes with them.   We remain a small business.

  • We both cycle, explore and write our unque cycle guides, to show you the best cycling in the area - and this is how we split the work.

  • You will talk to either Kay or Chris to book your holiday

  • Kay will  sort out some great accommodation for your itinerary, and make sure that any special requests you have are incorporated into your itinerary...so it really is a unique tour for you

  • Chris is in charge of the bikes and the workshop - making sure that we have great bikes (Trek is our preferred brand at the moment) and that they are all in top condition for you.  And he is always looking for new innovations for the bikes...  we've both had fun with introducing e-bikes to our fleet.

When you arrive at Petchfield Farm, we'll both be there to say "Hello", brief you on your tour, fit you with your bikes and sort out your luggage, and of course set you off on your adventure!

Whilst you are cycling, you'll meet the rest of our team,
our fantastic accommodation owners, who provide a great service and welcome, and you might get to meet some of our taxi drivers who miraculously transfer your luggage whilst you are cycling.

Usually, (*see below)  you won't see us again until the end of your holiday, when you arrive back at Petchfield Farm to be greeted by us, and your luggage.

Looking forward to meeting you this year

Kay and Chris Dartnell

*if you need a helping hand, or have a bike issue...then we're at the end of a phone and Chris will get out to you as quickly as possible, so you can get on with your holiday.
