Ludlow is the perfect place to start
Ludlow is situated in the centre of the "Marches" area, the disputed borderlands of England and Wales. Shropshire has historic castles and the world famous Ironbridge Gorge. Herefordshire has wonderful gardens and the Wye Valley. Cycling holidays in Wales, include Lon Las Cymru (Welsh National Cycle Route) and Brecon Beacons.
The best weather is always between May to September. Winter cycling can be lovely, but you have to be prepared for snow, ice and floods!

Where to stay - lots of traditional country inns or small hotels. Ludlow is a good place to start, with trains, parking and lots of places to stay.

Bring your own bike and equipment (pannier, lock, etc) trains to Ludlow can take two bikes (booked in advance)
