Our most popular walking tour ... lots of people wanted to enjoy the walk and the challenge of completing the whole 30-mile Trail in one short holiday. This is a three day walking tour (fourth day in Ludlow) starting from Kington, leading through Titley and Aymestrey and spending your last night in Ludlow. Total 31 miles.

**This a great tour for food lovers, with awardwinning restaurants at each night's stop; The Stagg at Titley, The Riverside at Aymestrey and Ludlow’s many great restaurants **

Availability: May, June and September. (July and August, rapid bracken growth makes some parts of the trail unpassable) Start days: Wednesday to Saturday.

Safe parking at Petchfield Farm
Day 1. Kington to Titley

Leaving your car at Petchfield Farm, you are taken to Kington, for the start of The Mortimer Trail. Kington is a quiet market town with plenty of places to stop for lunch. The trail takes you away from the Welsh border, over Offa’s Dyke and eventually down to the village of Titley. Staying at The Vicarage at Titley, its a fantastic place to stay, and turns the holiday into a real treat. Eat at The Stagg Inn, outstanding local food. Total 6 miles (10km)

Day 2. Titley to Aymestrey

Today's walk, takes you along a series of ridges to the Hill fort in Wapley forest, then down to the Lugg Valley and Aymestrey gorge. A lovely walk with great views & some beautiful woodland stretches. Overnight stop at The Riverside Inn with an excellent reputation for food. Total 12 miles (19 km)

Day 3. Aymestrey to Ludlow

Your last day's walk takes you once more into the hills, up to the Iron Age fort of Croft Ambrey and the National Trust lands of Croft Castle. Follow the trail through Bircher Common and into Mortimer Forest (brilliant, 360 degree views from High Vinnalls) and eventually down into the medieval town of Ludlow for your last nights stop. Stay at The Charlton Arms in the historic centre of Ludlow. Total 13 miles (20 km)

Day 4. Ludlow to Petchfield Farm

Your last day and time to explore Ludlow. We arrange to pick you up at a time convenient to you and take you back to Petchfield Farm to collect your car and luggage.
The Vicarage. In the tiny hamlet of Titley. Grand house with spacious rooms and hosts who are excellent cooks - continental breakfasts with style! Evening meals at The Stagg the first pub in the UK to be awarded a Michelin Star. (no longer has star - but food is just as good!)

The Riverside Inn. Country Inn. 16th century Drovers Inn, on the banks of the River Lugg in Aymestrey. Friendly pub with outstanding restaurant, specialising in local food and drink.

Charlton Arms Hotel. Riverside Inn, with great reputation for food (AA Rosettes and Michelin Bib Gourmand award). Riverside terraces, comfortable rooms and great views of historic Ludlow.
