This is an action packed holiday. Combine a two day cycling holiday with a wonderful canoe trip down the River Wye on the third day. Easy cycling - mainly following river valleys with the occasional short steep bit. Canadian canoes take 2 people. Easy paddling downstream to Hay on Wye or Whitney on Wye, where you'll be collected & returned to base. Total 42 or up to 54 miles cycling. Canoeing 10 miles.

Day 1. Petchfield Farm to Weobley

Easy cycling in the water meadows & valleys of the Lugg and Arrow. Unique half-timbered architecture in all the villages; Weobley is a classic Black & White village, at Pembridge visit the market hall, grand bell tower, Dunkerton's cider farm, and of course the New Inn (only 600 years old) and visit the medieval dovecots at Eardisland and Luntley. Total 24 - 30 miles (39 - 48 km)

Day 2. Weobley to Petchfield Farm

On your last cycling day there are two grand National Trust houses to visit; Croft Castle and Berrington Hall. Remember to stop at Yarpole church for coffee, their bell tower is one of the oldest timber structures in the UK. Finishing any time in the afternoon, back at Petchfield Farm. Total 18 - 24 miles (29 - 39 km) Return, with your car, to your accommodation for your second nights stay.

Day 3. Canoeing down the River Wye

You drive to the canoe base for briefing & kitting out with your Canadian canoes. You paddle downstream to Hay on Wye (5 miles) for lunch then canoe down the Wye to the famous toll bridge & Boat Inn (10 miles). You can finish your canoeing at either point (the longer trip takes all day, finishing about 4pm) and you will be collected & returned to the canoe base. Total canoeing 5 or 10 miles (8 - 16 km)

Canoe Safety: Canadian canoes take 2 people. Children welcome from 12 years upward, must be accompanied on a ratio of one adult to one child. There must also be a minimum of 2 adults in each group. Must be confident on water. Previous canoeing experience is recommended, if you are taking children with you. For safety reasons, solo canoeists cannot be accommodated on this tour. Canoe trips are run from May to September, outside of this season, river levels are too high.
